Chrome extension that lights up the black bars of the Netflix player with the colors of the picture, designed first for a 32:9 screen. Since Netflix video is DRM encrypted, the extension does not read pixels from the player and relies on Chrome's tab capture instead, either in auto mode (2 frames per second) or in real time through an offscreen document. An image analysis step computes the color of each zone along the picture edge, detects black bars baked into the video and draws the glow in small canvases that the browser scales up. Written in plain JavaScript with no dependencies or build step, with ambience presets, a battery saver mode, a French and English interface, unit tests and end to end tests against a fake Netflix page.
